STOIC PHYSICS — Book Trailer

About the book and trailer

Working towards an outcome is different from being able to command it. Stoic Physics widens the view to separate those two things: where do we stand in a changing, interconnected universe? Logos, impermanence and fate become ways of understanding the ground on which our intentions meet the world, rather than concepts left in antiquity.

Mehmet Gökhan İnce considers Epictetus’ disciplines of desire, action and judgement alongside everyday responsibilities. Distinguishing control from influence, and both from what must be released, need not mean withdrawing from action. The idea of cosmopolis places private concerns within a world shared with others.
