About the book
A child’s hand is in Silas’s palm; a moment later, only rain remains. According to the records, he has never had a daughter. Nadia takes him to an archive of lives the world never chose: reconciliations that did not happen, children never born, possibilities with no place in recorded history.
The Registry means to erase them in the name of protecting people from pain. Silas’s drawings offer another way. They enter strangers’ dreams, giving possibilities somewhere new to exist. But as the images spread, people who know him begin to forget him. Preserving other lives is costing him his own place in memory.
An original, full-colour graphic novel, The Last God makes loss a question of the future as well as the past. Erasing an unlived life may also erase the hope of living differently.
