ZERO DISTRICT
Seventeen addresses are vacant on paper. People still live there.
Written, conceived and prepared for publication by Mehmet Gökhan İnce
About the book
Julian’s fingers find a hiding place he cannot remember. A recorder in an old letterbox plays his voice, speaking in a conversation he has forgotten. Across the bridge, seventeen addresses have officially been declared vacant. People still live there. A clinic treats patients; a sealed tailor’s shop remains part of somebody’s life.
Mara has kept the bills and receipts. Then Julian recognises his own words in a report: he declared the last home evacuated without going inside. An approaching clearance order gives that old sentence an immediate human cost. Challenging the document means acknowledging his part in writing it.
In this full-colour graphic novel, missing memories do not offer an exit from responsibility. Mara refuses to let someone else decide which parts of her life matter. Julian is running out of time to confront what he helped erase.
